With seven universities in this city featured in the 2016 QS World University Rankings, it qualifies as one of the best study destinations in the world, while ranked 15th globally in the 2015 QS Best Student Cities. Here are five of its best universities
It is the New York City’s highest ranked institution currently at position 19 worldwide and considered among the top 10 universities in the US. It is a member of the prestigious Ivy League and offers an array of academic and vocational courses. The university’s main campus is located in Ithaca, over 200 miles northwest of New York City, but it has an unyielding presence in NYC.
The renowned university is currently ranked 22nd in the QS World University Rankings. It is also a member of the coveted Ivy League and boasts of famous alumni including Barack Obama, the current US President. It also boasts of a highly diverse faculty of over 3,700 academic staff and around 30,000 students which include more than 7,000 international students hailing from over 150 countries.
New York University
The New York University is currently ranked at position 53 in the QS World University Rankings. It has a strong orientation on internationalization with several branches around the world and its main campus, the Washington Square campus, being located in Greenwich Village. Recently, the school has attracted high-profile mix of artists, writers, musicians and other intellectuals to study in it.
Ranked at position 384th internationally, Yeshiva University is another notable research university in New York. It was started over a century years ago with the aim of combining Jewish traditions together with culture bearing Western heritage. City University of New York
Although all the other universities in this list are private, the City University of New York is a New York public university. It is currently ranked at position 461 in the world and is the largest urban university in the US. It is composed of 24 colleges across Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. It has more than 500,000 students admitted to study in a wide variety of courses.
